Greater Cambridge Partnership are proposing to charge between £5 and £50 to the owners of vehicles that drive into and within Cambridge 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday to raise money for a ‘London Style’ bus infrastructure for Cambridge and beyond. Ultimately the decision is for Cambridgeshire County councillors to decide. The area to which this charge will apply covers almost all urban Cambridge. The implications for households and businesses in and outside Cambridge are far reaching.
Cambridge City Conservative Association oppose the charge and are participating the protest organised by the Cambridge Residents Group and Mill Road Traders Association.
Join other CCCA members at the Castle Street car park or meet at Parkers Piece on Sunday 27th November 12 noon to support the protest. Wear something blue so that we can recognise each other and bring a friend or two.
Please email David Smith [email protected] so we know who is coming.
