President – Baroness Perry of Southwark
Pauline Perry, served as the Chief Inspector of Schools in England. She was educated at Girton and became a teacher before joining HM Inspectorate at the Department of Education and Science. Baroness Perry became vice-chancellor of South Bank Polytechnic, serving during its transition to a university and went on to hold other prestigious posts in higher education including becoming President of Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge.
Chairman – Linda Yeatman
Linda Yeatman was adopted as Chairman in February 2011, having been Deputy Chairman, Membership and Fundraising since 2010.
After graduating from St Andrews in 1959, Linda started her career in publishing, working as an editor for Macmillans and Puffin Books and as amresearch assistant at Fortune Magazine in New York. After marriage to Robert Yeatman she continued to work on a free-lance basis for a number of mainstream London publishers and began to write regularly for various newspapers, including the Times and the Observer. Linda became editorial director for Lutterworth Press in Cambridge. During the 1990s she started and ran a small publishing company with her husband which was sold in 2003.
Linda has been a life-long Conservative, helping in the constituencies wherever she has lived. This is the first constituency she has lived and worked in since 1963 that does not have a Conservative Member of Parliament. She would like to change this.
Deputy Chairman, Political and Campaigning – Tim Haire
Timothy Haire was adopted as Deputy Chairman, Political and Campaigning in April 2010 and has led Association election campaigns since then. He achieved better than national average swing in the General Election and strong local election voter share in recent by elections.
He is a mathematician with particular interests in financial mathematics and medical physics. He is keen to hear from anyone with a local issue on which the Conservatives should campaign, or who wants to stand as a council candidate or help in campaigning.
Deputy Chairman, Membership and Fundraising – Gina Youens
Gina was adopted as Deputy Chairman (Membership & Fundraising) in October 2011. Gina Youens has worked locally in Adult Education for 12 years. She is currently employed at an independent jewellers in Cambridge. Her interests are Art, the British Countryside and encouraging others to learn new things.
Honorary Treasurer – Timothy Wheatley
Tim has been working for the Conservatives off and on since 1945 as his parents, grandparents and great-grandparents did before him. He has been involved in Cambridge politics for nearly forty years, being a former Chairman of the Association. He now does his bit as Treasurer since his days of pounding the streets are almost over.
Before retiring he had a varied career in teaching, publishing, management consulting and running small charities. He is married to Elaine, a former City and County Councillor and also an ex-Chairman.
