Cambridge Lib Dems succeed in scuppering A14 upgrade?

In the Chancellor’s spending review statement a few minutes ago, he announced certain transport projects in the East of England, such as the A11 upgrade, that had survived the necessary spending cuts. Sadly the A14 upgrade was not on that list, making it almost certain that the project has been scrapped.

Cambridgeshire’s drivers can look forward to another decade of worsening congestion and crashes. Meanwhile Cambridge’s Lib Dem MP, Julian Huppert, and his colleagues on the City Council can celebrate their success in scuppering the upgrade.
